Sandwhich Baggi

Happy to share this snack recipe with you!

Whenever I have leftover bread at home I make this snack. This could be made with both white bread and brown bread. It’s a simple snack. But covering two slices of bread together in dough and frying without breaking needs patience! But i know you can do it! Cooking is all about patience isn't it! :)
It’s rain rain every day... here in Bangalore;) So hot chai and sandwich baggis makes the evening perfect! Happy Cooking! Cheers!

Ingredients:

Bread slices – 2
Potato – 1 small
Green chilli -1
Gram flour – 3 Tbsp
Chilli powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
Pepper – ½ tsp
Mustard – 1 tsp
Water – ¼ cup + 1 tsp
Hing - a pinch or 1 finely chopped garlic
Salt to taste

Method:

1.Boil the potato. Mash it. Add needed salt. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard when it splutter add green chilli, now add mashed potato to it. Give it a turn and switch off the flame. Stuff is ready!
2.In a mortar crush the pepper coarsely.
3.In a bowl add gram flour, chilli powder, turmeric, salt, crushed pepper, hing. Now add water little by little and make a batter.
4.Take the bread slices. Keep a layer of potato masala on one slice and cover with the other slice. Give a gentle press. Cut it in to 4 pieces/squares.
5.You can pin toothpicks on two corners of the bread sandwich so that while battering and frying the layers are intact. After frying you can remove it.(If you are smarter you will not need this toothpicks!)
6.In a pan put enough oil for deep frying and heat it.
7.Dip each sandwich in the batter and deep fry in the hot oil.

Best Practice:

While boiling potates add turmeric. It acts as a disinfectant.
